By news, Uncategorised

In order to fulfill demand, on Thursday 14th May, Directors Cut opened 8 new Avid edit suites, resulting in a very popular opening day.
The bacon rolls went down very well in the morning, as did the late-evening Pimm’s and everything in-between… so lovely to see everyone.

This brings the number of offline edit suites to 23 now, all having ISIS shared storage, interplay remote viewing… and windows!

Televisual’s double-page spread on Directors Cut’s Interplay.

By news, Uncategorised

This month’s Televisual magazine features a double-page spread on our new Interplay system.

Interplay allows remote viewing & editing of your project media whilst seamlessly integrating across our in-house offline and online Avid suites. This provides the obvious advantage of better time and cost management for your project.

As the world moves towards a cloud-based future, we believe Interplay will be at the core of Avid’s future technical developments for Post houses like ours.

The combination of Interplay Central (which offers clients remote viewing of their media assets) and Interplay Sphere (which allows Editorial and support staff to work outside of the Facility) enables us to track both ingesting and transcoding for offline edits. This in turn seamlessly relinks back to the full-resolution rushes, thus radically improving the efficiency of our workflows.

You could the future is here… now!

Gallery at Directors Cut

By news, Uncategorised

This year we are branching out into the art world with shows by emerging artists whose work will grace the walls of our Great Portland Street offices. It would be nice to think that these artists could, one day, perhaps, be the subjects of our documentaries of the future.

We are working with producer and curator, Judy Parkinson, and the first show – a double act called Hide and Seek – will end on 9th May.
It features the work of two contrasting artists, Philip Booth and Cat Roissetter. Viewing can be arranged by appointment.  Works are on sale and prices range from £200 to £2,000.

Philip Booth is a recent prize winning graduate of Camberwell College of Arts, working in oil on canvas and ceramics.

Cat Roissetter is ex-St Martins and The Royal College of Art and she works in ink and water colour on paper.
