Directors Cut's facilities are constantly evolving, but the company is built around the core resource of our brilliant staff.

Technically, we are continually investing in new technology and are now now editing & delivering in 4K.

We offer 30 offline suites and all equipment, whether in our offline, online, grade or audio suites, run current software and hardware and all have manufacturer support contracts.

Baselight Colour Grading

We grade on the legendary Baselight 2 system with the Blackboard 2 control panel in our bespoke grading suite. Using our highly talented in-house as well as freelance graders, we achieve and enhance your original vision.

With third party plugins including Sapphire, this is amongst the most powerful systems in London.

Working and delivering in all resolutions and frame rates, we have some of the the best and most powerful equipment available in the industry to handle all aspects of post production.

Online

We have 5 Avid Symphony online edit suites, each equipped with the current, major industry plugins including Boris Continuum, Sapphire, Blue Title and Baselight.

All online suites are linked to our AQC computers so virtual QC can be performed while editing for extra confidence.

Offline

All offline-suites are equipped with current version Avids and each have the latest version of the Boris Continuum plugins.

All offline suites are centrally connected to our ISIS storage and offer the option of remote viewing & sync assembly anywhere with an internet connection via Avid Interplay.

Each offline suite also has a client PC, air-conditioning and a physical window to the outside world.

C.A.R.

Our Central Apparatus Room includes an Avid ISIS 5000 system for offline and an ISIS 5500 system for online.
We ingest rushes into our Object Matrix storage system (the best in the industry) and then transcode any number of tapeless formats into Avid ISIS for editing.

As well as Avid interplay remote viewing, we provide a variety of ways to deliver programmes electronically; from rough cuts for approval viewings, to DPP programme delivery for broadcasters.

With over 256TB of storage, fibre-connected to Avid Unity for offline, online, colour grade & sound suites, Directors Cut is a very complete facility for reliable broadcast output.

Audio Dubbing

We have three newly refurbished dubbing studios equipped with the latest S6 Protools mixing desks.

Built around Protools version 12 with a wide range of additional audio plug-ins, we can mix and deliver for all standards including 5.1 surround-sound and Dolby. We have fully floating rooms and an isolated VO recording booth.

Our highly skilled, creative and experienced sound team truly deliver your sound to the highest possible standards.

Automated Dialogue Replacement (A.D.R.)

The sound department runs Protools version 12 with the latest S6 desks and has everything you need for successful A.D.R recording.

We are constantly updating all facilities and this simply ensures our team are operating the best equipment available.

QC

We are fully equipped for QC of all deliverable formats including 4K & 5.1.

We use Content Agent for AS-11 creation, which enables insert editing of any required patches.

Further investment in Cinedeck and cineXtools has complimented this file-based-delivery workflow, now providing insert editing across multiple codecs, including Apple ProRes, which is core to many of our client’s deliverable needs. These investments have dramatically speeded up the delivery process, essential for fast-turnaround delivery.
